It has been almost a year since i embarked on my music festival portfolio project for L’uomo Vogue.. Orig i was asked to do one portrait.. but then that was cancelled.. I took it upon myself to run around from APW in New Jersey all the way to the Reading festival in UK to shoot as many bands backstage as i could.. the list went from The Raconteurs„ MGMT, The Black Keys, The Virgins, Ben Harper, Mark Ronson, Conor Oberst and many more… What do they say? when u have lemons.. make lemonade.. Thankfully L’uomo published most of them in the Music issue! Although it was a demanding production and at times very guerilla/by the seat of my pants.. It was so exciting to not know who would be interested and have the 10 min to sit (rather stand for me) in my makeshift studio.. The not knowing was uncomfortable and frustrating at times but always exciting.. and for what i got in the end were candid portraits of some of my favorite bands of last summer… along with some inspiring new friends… ps. check out Jack’s amazing new band with my friend Alison Mosshart (from the kills) The Dead Weather. hopefully i will get to shoot them too!
