When i am not shooting for someone else (last week).. I enjoy shooting these one on one home sittings… just me and my subject.. There is something special about shooting for no other purpose other than the experience.. here’s a loose edit of just one of our set ups (YSL tuxedo jacket, American Apparel Swimsuit and a piece of Tulle).. Over the past few years i have had the great opportunity and honor to take Gwen’s pictures several times and have become quite friendly with her, her family, and No Doubt.. I consider Gwen and now No Doubt to be an amazing part of my career and life’s experiences.. No Doubt is back in the studio writing.. I’m looking forward to what comes out! Anyone who follows fashion and models is familiar with Natasa V.. Natasa is one of the most unique models in the industry.. With a no holds barred attitude and intelligence.. Natasa has challenged the industry, in my opinion, and won.. Lacking a concern or dependence for a traditional beauty.. Instead, her unique approach to life and her own type of beauty! For Mother’s day i took pics of orchids.. My mom and i used to plant flowers.. orchids are my favorite.. here is just one of them.. more to come.. happy mommy’s day to all the mothers i know.. and thoughts to the one i miss most..
Recentley i went to Nashville, Tennesse to shoot Karen. Karen and i have known eachother for almost a decade now. I recall many years ago going to her and her twin sister Kate’s Birthday/Karaoke party @ sin sin.. Karen’s voice was so nice that i think we all were ashamed to go up and try to do our best Guns and Roses… We shot these images @ Third Man Records (Jack White’s studio and record store in downtown Nashville).. Karen’s Debut album “The Ghost Who Walks” is out now! Check out the pics we did in only an hour!!!! Thank yous to Jack for the studio space,BlackBook, Press Here Publicity & Karen for that fun opportunity! my thoughts are with Nashville and hope the waters recede quickly..
The other day i went to Catherine’s studio in the garment district to take her portrait. Here are a bunch of images from my shoot with Idris.. Idris is as charming, dynamic and talented as he seems. Tall, dark and handsom.. ohh and that british accent.. i can understand the attraction. Idris along with being best known for his role as Stringer Bell in The Wire, his film credits span from guy richies RockNrolla, Tango in American Gangster and now the film, The Losers (out tomorrow). along side beauty, Zoe Saldana. Idris and i had fun that day and he was super animated and willing to try lots of different things.. Idris is also known for his music under the name DRiiS..
